Two-Time NASCAR Series Champion Austin Dillon Purchases SFC Angling Club

Dillon's team will compete as "South Carolina Outcast Angling Club."

(Dallas, TX, March 12, 2025) –  Sport Fishing Championship (SFC) today announced two-time NASCAR series champion and Daytona 500 winner Austin Dillon has purchased the South Carolina Angling Club, which will officially be known as South Carolina Outcast Angling Club.

Captain Stuart Lackey from Charleston, SC, will man the helm for the Outcast, competing in SFC’s Atlantic Division. The purchase is part of the league's new competition format, featuring 14 professional teams, each representing a region across North America. These teams will compete weekly, spotlighting offshore fishing's top competitors and building dedicated regional fan bases across the continent.

Since the league’s first season in 2022, SFC had operated an “open” format, allowing competitors of all skill levels the opportunity to compete in its SFC Billfish Championship. In this new competitive format, SFC will now showcase the same teams week-to-week as they travel on an international tour, competing in elite tournaments and fishing in top-tier fisheries from April through October annually.

“I’m thrilled to announce my involvement in SFC’s billfish championship series and introduce South Carolina Outcast, a new professional fishing team debuting in 2025,” said Austin Dillon, NASCAR driver and co-owner of Team Dillon Management. “We plan to build the league’s premier championship fishing club and use our platform to positively impact the community.”

Dillon joins world No. 1 golfer and Olympic gold medalist Scottie Scheffler, NFL legend Randy Moss, Pro Bowl running back Raheem Mostert, inaugural LIV Golf Singles Champion Talor Gooch and Grammy-nominated country star Brian Kelley amongst a wave of team owners competing in SFC’s new championship format.

“Austin Dillon and the South Carolina Outcast Angling Club are a welcome addition to an absolutely star-studded field of competitors from across the sports landscape,” added Mark Neifeld, CEO & Commissioner of SFC. “If there’s one thing you’ve learned from Team Dillon Management: with every sport they enter, they play to win.”

Team Dillon Management, started by Austin and his brother, fellow NASCAR Cup Series driver Ty Dillon, represent a number of drivers in several American motorsports series as well as own the Carolina Cowboys of The Professional Bull Riders, Inc. (PBR) Team Series.

Coming in as rookies, we just want to be able to compete, but we're focused on winning,” Dillon said. “There's no lack of trying to put the best talent on the boat.”
